Durham match thread 2022

Spinners have bowled 12 overs again. Lancs without Livingstone again. Lancs are 133-6 in the 18th over, so we're doing alright with the ball, but there's a rain delay.

Dreaded DL might kick in and ask us to score 150 in 12 overs or something daft, when the truth is we probably couldn't hit 150 in 30 overs

Abandoned! The weather has cost us another win.

now if he's a 14 year old spinner who'd been given permission off his headteacher to finish school early today so that he could travel up, then he'll probably take 5-12 later

11 overs a side according to Emmerson. We've been hopeless as per usual in this competition but Notts on paper look exceptional and yet they have been equally dreadful. Worcestershire too - have a much stronger squad than we do but are - currently!- bottom.

Yes! Plans seem non-existent but if he thinks it's a strong lineup he is delusional.

Jones is bobbing along at a run a ball and unsurprisingly anyone trying to hit out is getting out

Such a poor batting side - and bowling side!- Turner looked promising in the game and a half before his injury and ,perhaps understandably, hasn't done much since his return. Dickson absence is also unfortunate.
There were promising signs last season but it also seemed clear we needed to strengthen the squad with at least 2 or 3 players of proven ability. Turner, as a BBL winning captain and powerful middle order batsman, was a good addition but ww needed to add to the permanent playing squad.
With so many players on England duty - and in ny view the only surprise absentee has been Potts - it's surely imperative to have strength in depth in the squad.
