They've had the season off in that they've turned up for very few games.
Wouldn't mind losing key players to the Hundred. RL50 cup is intended to be a development competition and Glamorgan won it last year by giving league players opportunities. Two most successful bowlers in NEPL this season are called Allison and Oswell both early 20s. Then Killeen Jnr, a promising 17 year old.Bushnell, Doneathy and Crawshaw as batters, Macintosh with the gloves. Two overseas and Jones provide the batting experience, Raine, Trevaskis and Sowter with the ball.
Reality is unfortunately Franklin's probably never heard of the youngsters I've mentioned.

Time is up for Rushy in the CC, but I have no idea what his contract situation is. The pitches being requested by Rob Key are intended to give nothing to county stalwarts, in the Rushy mould, right around the country, so if Rushy doesn't play white ball cricket going forward, then we are going to lose him and that would be a shame. Pitches are so flat that in red ball cricket even accurate bowling is going around the park. Maybe that'll change later in the season, and maybe the balls will be of a higher quality next year, but I fear that I'm clutching at straws, really......... ask not for whom the bell tolls!

I fear the fat lady has sung for Rushy. Not even effective in 2nd X1 or league cricket recently.

Derby tomorrow

I shall probably go down. Feels like ages since there was last any cricket at the Riverside.

As a new era dawns with Bushnell, Macintosh and McAlinden named in squad and all looking likely to play.

been a long time since we've named a 13 man squad as weak looking as this one

David Bedingham, Scott Borthwick*, Jonathan Bushnell, Paul Coughlin, Michael Jones, Oliver Gibson, Alex Lees, Nic Maddinson, Tom Mackintosh (wk), Stanley McAlindon, Ben Raine, Chris Rushworth, Liam Trevaskis

at least Alex Lees is back. Dicko still out and no sign of Mr Ned

Yes, could otherwise be a very long day...or two.

Coughlin must have picked up a late injury because Salisbury- who wasn't in the original squad - is playing.

What a take that was from the keeper. Terrific. Low down to his left at full stretch
