That last session made me really proud. It was possible that heads would fall. If we don't let them any more partnerships and bat wisely, we'll have a chance to catch up tomorrow.

The boys did a fantastic job navigating the final few overs. There's a lot of hope for tomorrow.

It would have been easy for a side to succumb to scoreboard pressure after the first Essex innings. Kent didn't do that which has to be a positive

Compton and Milnes, who batted brilliantly in the first innings, are back at the crease only a few hours later. Congratulations to Ben Compton, who appears to be on the field for the entire game.

Our bowling attack is too one-dimensional, allowing batsmen to get in and stay there too easily
