I see Sean Dickson is going to captain Somerset in the RL50. Finally came good for them on T20 finals day.

Graham Clark wicketkeeping today against Northumberland. Our bowling attack is ridiculously depleted thanks to The 100- Coughlin is back but the rest are all rookies.

Yes, just not sure if those bowlers are remotely ready. I suspect results could be even worse than T20!

Wonder where Borthwick was - is Bedingham away at The 100? If I remember rightly when we got to the final it was with the strongest available 11 - so surely they'll be playing on Tuesdsy if available?

Good question, my initial thought is they weren't but then thought Bancroft was playing when we made the final. Perhaps rules were altered- would certainly explain the absence of Bedingham.
Problem we'll have is a bowling attack that seems likely to concede well above par a scores ( or be unable to defend par) and a batting lineup that won't be able to cope with having to either set or chase big scores.

Peter Handscomb playing for Leicestershire today so overseas players must be eligible- no point in him playing a warm-up otherwise- although there seemed to be a distinct lack of overseas players in the other games so who knows!
Perhaps just a case of giving squad players a run out and leaving out a couple of likely starters.

I'd have thought it would be better to have a 50 ball development comp..... it seems to be the way forward.... build up to the 100 ball version as the youngsters get a bit bigger and a bit stronger. Bowlers bowling a max of 10 one ball overs, so they don't get an overuse injury to the rotator cuff before they've had a chance to properly develop the required shoulder musculature
