tbf to him, in recent years, I'd have given us a chance of defending 168..... but not this year. We have too many leaky bowlers who just can't be relied upon. We miss Potts. Even Trev seems to have gone backwards this year both with ball and bat

I did like the look of Robinson L. Just a pity that we kept misfielding boundaries off his bowling.

Funniest moment for me was Naseem Shah diving after a ball that flew past the square leg umpire. I think he saw it late, but wanted to show willing because the ball was pretty much past him before the started the slowest dive in the history of cricket. He sort of went down in three stages like an Argentina player in the box hoping to cheat his way to a penalty at the FIFA world cup. Not really fair on Argentina, though...... they practice cheating in the box so would probably make a better fist of it than Shah

Yes, Sowter and Raine aside the bowling is unreliable. Don't know how many games Parnell played at the IPL, suspect not too many so he might just be rusty. Although I suppose this format is going to have some unexpected results - Lancs having a lineup packed with internationals and having a disaster whereas Worcestershire are doing brilliantly but lost today to Northants. Don't think we have the players to have a great T20 campaign...but we could do OK and that's not something I thought possible before the tournament started.

he's disappointed me a bit, tbh, given his wealth of experience in this format, but it may just be our pitches. Perhaps after Tuesday when we go on the road again he'll show us what he can do. Maybe he just needs a bit of settling in?

It's Wayne Parnell. Don't know how he has been faring recently but seems a good T20 signing.

I guess the call up for Potts set us back and we had to make a snap decision. If Parnell was available then it isn't surprising that we went with him. I just wonder could we, should we have stuck with Patel? Then again that would have left us with Bas de Loose opening the bowling before buggering off, so I guess with the injuries to Coughlin and Carse we simply had to bring in an experienced T20 seamer. I'm not worried about Parnell's economy rate, he bowls exclusively in the PP and at the death, so he's always likely to go for plenty, but a few more wickets would have been nice. Hey... they might yet come and nobody is stamping their authrity on the north group like Somerset are doing in the south group, so if they do come it might make all the difference

there was one other thing that I noticed in this game. Leics got to their hundred just 3 or 4 balls quicker than we got to ours, yet our hundred came up in 50 minutes and theirs in 43 minutes according to the electronic scoreboard. That suggests to me that we rattle through our overs. Maybe we ought to slow down and think about it a bit more....... and yet, blimey... half of our PP overs are 8 ball affairs and we still race through them

I think I'll have timed it quite well - by the time I get there the power play will be over.
Obviously I was wrong about Lancs - I was sure they would set an impossible target- but I don't think bowling tonight is a bad idea...provided it's not a horrific effort.
