Yes, just a couple of alarms lately, could do with a burst from Potts after tea.
Don't know if you were listening but Campbell was on commentary again- said he's after at least one other seamer to go with the overseas signing. Full of praise for Ackermann and said he wanted a top 6 batter to offer a bowling option.
He suggested Coggers had been injured - saying it'd be risky bringing him in without a run out for the seconds.
Interestingly he said Sowter could be in contention for the last couple of games- scored 82 and took 3 wickets in an over in the current second team game...he also mentioned Colonel jnr ran himself out for 99!

The reason he wants a couple of bowlers is because we are likely to be missing Carse and Potts to England and BC and Coughlin won't be able to play full seasons. He mentioned the record shows that if Coggers plays 3 in a row he gets injured. Not a critical comment , just an observation.
Also pointed out that in div 1 you need more depth to the squad. And that he'd have been happy with either Parkinson twin - or both!

Yes, thought de Leede bowled very well in that last session. Looked the most threatening seamer, Parky very good again.

No alarms this morning, although I was just starting to think about disastrous last wicket stands when the stand was broken.
Sounds as if promotion could be confirmed next week when we don't have a game.

Should be - I think we need 5 points for promotion if Leicestershire and Worcestershire pick up maximum points wins in the remaining games. Can't really see them both doing it - and coincidentally our last 2 games are against them - so we might not need any more points.
Carse and Potts won't be available but it shouldn't matter - hopefully not the famous last words!

No game for us next week so if I've got the numbers right we'll be promoted if Leicestershire don't beat Sussex. Or if they win with just 3 bonus points. Latter scenario unlikely because if they win they'll surely get all 3 bowling points and at least one batting point.

Very, especially how things went last year and losing Rushworth and Dickson. I always have the feeling that things could go wrong - was thinking this morning that if Sussex got a lead of 80 or 90 and then had us 20/4....
It surely will be alright now but I'm still hoping it's done and dusted next week!

With all the international call ups we have some thinking to do. We put out 2 spinners in the last game, so maybe we'll do something similar for the Leics game, but I'm not sure how we'll approach the game at New Rd next week. Coggers or Bushnell (perhaps) could come in for BdL, Fernando replaces Potts, but who replaces Drissell if the deck ain't for turning? Maybe we play both Coggers and Bushy
