Could well be! Or maybe Campbell's because I remember Jon Lewis saying that the big boundaries were for tactical reasons...suspect Campbell's tactics are different! I think if we are confident in having plenty of big hitters it's not a bad idea...but also could go pear shaped quite quickly!

I gave up after de Leede's second over

I'm trying to work out what exactly the point of de Leede is. He scratched about with bat somehow managing to guide us to 9 runs off the last 13 balls of our innings, then opened the bowling with 2 wides a four and a six off one of the extra balls he had to bowl. Came back in the 4th over with 6, dot, 4, 6, wide, 4, 4

I'm wondering who to contact in the Netherlands squad to try and get them to call him up early

I have a feeling that he's going to be one of those 'pet projects' for us, like Crawley is for England

Yes. Some costly blunders - should really have got up to 200 ish ...and yet were it not for some buffet bowling and a bit of fortune for Notts we probably still would have won. Can't have that power play bowling though and I'm not sure why Parnell or Raine didn't come in to bat towards the end.
Still, it was individual errors in an otherwise pretty good effort...although I think Jos might be playing on Friday.

It was a poor night as it always seems to be at home

I'm happy enough with our top 5 and I'm happy enough with tonight's 8 to 11, but 6 and 7 are just not what we need

scoring 9 runs off our last 13 deliveries is just unacceptable, frankly. We never seem to have someone who comes in late and scores 20 or 30 off 8 or 9 balls to turn a decent score into a good score.

Maybe that should be Turner's role?

de Leede is not the answer to anything. We beat Yorks comfortably, but we did it with the top 5 scoring all the runs and we did it despite the opening 5 overs from the flying Dutchmen

Raine looks great, Sowter looks quality, Trev will generally do a decent job and Turner can be useful for an over or two. Parnell ought to add something to our attack, but the other opener is a real problem. No Potts hurts us, so we need to come up with another plan

My worry is that Campbell will see de Leede as one of his picks and might keep picking him until Holland take him away....... sooner the better, for me

Gawd help me for saying this, but I'd rather have Coughlin and although he bowls like a drain in T20, he feels like an upgrade on de Leede

de Leede is an interesting one because, as I was saying the other day, all of his experience is in white ball cricket but on the evidence so far, he seems more suited to the red ball game- has batted nicely and taken wickets- erratic bowling but that's less of a problem in the role he plays in the CC.
It might be just a case of nerves or taking time to settle but if he plays on Friday I definitely would not have him opening the bowling.
I think holding Turner back for the last few overs is a good idea - but in the situation we were in tonight I think Raine or Parnell should have come in.

I don't know anyone who doesn't think that Raine should have come in once Robbo was out

de Leed seems to bowl the same ball over and over again and his only variation is firing it down the legside for wides
