It'll be interesting to hear why we wanted to bowl. Suppose the verdict will have to wait until at least both first innings are complete, but as of now it seems like a howler.

we didn't win the toss did we?

I have no idea what we're bowling on or with, but 460-1 after 90 overs is ridiculous. I just don't believe we're that bad with ball in hand

We did win it. I thought it wss odd at the start but seems to have been a catastrophic error!

I see that Trev ended the day 82 not out on debut for Leics. I'm pleased for him

Hopefully he can get a hundred.
Borthwick saying the lads have given him some stick over his decision to bowl. I bet they have!

I see that Warks got bored of scoring runs in the end

I can't bring myself to look at how our reply is going in case Rushy already has a 5fer

It's not going well! Obviously can't make any judgement until several games into the season but I do have doubts about Borthwick and Ackermann in the top 3 against div 1 attacks. Hopefully they'll prove me wrong in the second innings!

178-3

could have been a lot worse, from 45-2, but there's still a mighty long way to go to avoid the FO

we do appear to have curbed our usual aggressive batting, I'm pleased to see. I like aggressive batting, but there's a time and a place and this is about saving the game. Conceding 700 runs takes any thought of winning totally out of the equation. Without seeing any of it, I'm pretty sure that they have to be playing on the M6. It can't just be about poor bowling or the kookaburra and the short boundary. There surely can't be any demons in the pitch unless it is so dry that there is a chance of it breaking up tomorrow and Sunday.... but then why choose to bowl?

Mind boggling decision really. I'll bet you that Davies couldn't believe his luck on Friday morning

maybe we rang Stuart Law the night before :panic

Or Rushy told Borthwick it's a bowl first pitch!

That decision to bowl surely won't have been entirely down to Borthwick- I'm not sure I can think of a more baffling choice! Times report tactfully described it as an odd one! I wonder how many times the lowest score from the top 3 batters was 178 not out! :horse

Not going particularly well apart from the Lees century. 6 down.

35 needed to avoid the FO, but we are now 9 down. Not sure if Boland can hold a bat, so it might be down to Matty P

tall order from here. When we get put back in we can't afford to lose wickets tonight, so I hope the openers are concentrating hard
