Agreed. That fixture doesn't bear thinking about.

Weather seems all over the place. Earlier on there was sunshine followed by hailstones and then heavy rain!
Carse back in the squad for tomorrow, Siddle too. de Leede out with " a minor knee injury" but presumably he'd have been left out in any case.

presumably Coggers, Hogg and Jonesy miss out
it's a shame for Coggers, because he bowled pretty well last week, but then he probably warrants having his work load managed given the injury prone nature of his career

I agree. Needs very careful management.

Early morning sunshine has been replaced with showers and hail stones

I might go down tomorrow afternoon, but it's far too cold to sit around watching cricket in between dodging the showers. I'm not a brolly and blanket man

Won the toss and are batting. Will be a formidable task against their bowlers. Siddle not playing.

of course, it might turn out nice this afternoon and I change my mind, but I'm not holding my breath
by the end of this game we'll be more a quarter of the way through the Championship season and it's still *modded* winter

I'm having a walk down this afternoon so it's certain to rain!

With the uncertain forecast I wonder if we should have bowled? Much easier in theory to get 3 bowling points than batting ones and if it is an on-off day it could be tricky.

I did think about heading down this afternoon, because the weather isn't that bad, tbh, but sadly my back has completely stiffened up from my stint down the allotment and I'd have to go now, before the school traffic and rush hour traffic gets into full swing and I simply can't right now. Tomorrow it will have to be.

No Siddle, I see, so Coggers keeps his place at 8. Carse in for Bas
We had a very tricky start, both openers falling with the score on 11, but Bedders galloped to 50, before Porter rearranged his furniture, Ackers has sedately reached his 50 and Robbo (in Robbo we trust) has raced to 70
208-3 in the 45th over

Ackers brings up his century. He's anchoring this innings
300-6
