the main debate from a surrey point of view would be about chris jordan and jason roy..

in warm up games, jordan has opened the batting and scored runs, whilst roy looks horribly out of nick.

They have a very balanced team.

They have aggressive players in RHB, Davies, Roy, Maynard.
Stable players in Harinath, Ramps, Rudolph, de Bruyn.
Plenty of spin in Ansari, Schofield, Batty, Spriegel, Kartik.
Good seamers in Dernbach, Meaker, Linley, Dunn, Lewis.

My XI for first class cricket:

RHB
Rudolph
Ramps
Roy
Maynard
Davies
de Bruyn/Schofield
Meaker
Dernbach
Kartik
Linley/Dunn

Not sure about RHB opening in FC cricket. Much rather have Roy. Out of form but a good prospect. Deserves a long run IMO. Could open for England in the future at least in LO cricket. Maybe Tests as well but he is some way off at the moment.

Roy isn't an opener in FC cricket (more of a 3 or 4) and he also hasn't been that impressive in his career to date in the longer format. RHB has done well and anyway, he is captain so he'll decide where he wants to bat.

Jordan opening the batting for Surrey?

Do the selectors know something I don't?

When they have so many better options, it does seem really strange but apparently, he has been in good form.

Harinath is a lot better IMO.

Where has Jordan been on good form with the bat?
:hmmm
He played four matches for Barbados, and made a total of 65 runs with a topscore of 21 for an average of less than 17....
