No crazier, though more crooked, than this one.

Even though its has been ten years since that test match, I have still not understood what happened in that test....It confuses me even now as much as it did when i saw both Naseer and Cronje take those decisions. Sometimes i wonder if ever i understood or played a game of cricket. :laugh

Too young to remember the South Africa Test, I'm afraid.
I do remember a bit of that win against the Windies but not much.

Feel such a hopeless dupe for thinking that Cronje was thinking of the good of the game!

I think they were trying to bowl us out though...

It rained in that match iirc. Even the commies were not understanding what was happening. There was lot of discussion about those weird declarations.

Looking back it was so wrong. I think I was just grateful for the possible win. I'm sure plenty were wiser than i was.

Yeah I have heard stories regarding that controversial Test. Certainly a very crazy Test.

That WI Test was Hoggard's debut. Didn't bowl in the second innings. Sat in the hutch, last man as Cork and Gough closed it out. Must have been traumatised.

Pretty frantic end. Cork and Gough threatening to run each other out, shots lobbed into gaps. I may be wrong, but there may have been part of four innings in one day in that Test.

somewhat like the recent Australia - South Africa test. Nobody wanted a win.

That's what happens when you ask the bowlers to do most of the batting.
