Villa Park will host next season's Community Shield on August 12.

Not sure why it's not a t Wembley. Does it clash with the Olympics?

don't think so. I'm pretty sure the para's are later than that...end of Aug until the beginning of Sept.

Strange how it is announced now and not some point last season.

The final is Man City v Chelsea so Emirates/Old Trafford would be a neutral venue. Although, maybe, they wanted to get out their local city altogether which ruled out Manchester and London.

I meant neutral as in equidistant to both clubs. Villa is probably as close as it gets.
