And he suggests he will stop playing Tests at the end of the summer as well.

Wher does Selvey talk about breach of contract Arthur?

Wouldnt surprise me if he did give up tests soon. Not much left for him to prove is there?

This may give in an insight as to why he's retired!

KP needs test cricket....he may have IPL...but his reputation is based on international cricket, if he retires from test cricket, then it will be very hard for him just to find form in occasional t20 tournaments....

KP needs test cricket, more than test cricket needs him.

i find it quite funny that so many people are having a go at KP for being a money grabber when i read other sites and comments on articles, when if it wasn't for the ECB arranging pointless ODI series like the one against australia this year, for no other reason than to make money, then this situation might not even have arisen

Well that's certainly true. I must have moaned many times on here that the ECB's obsession with making money will eventually ruin the game, but people keep telling me that money is good, cricket needs money, Sky is wonderful for providing money. Grass roots ....yawn, yawn.... I still think I'll eventually be proved right.

I have no problem with KP choosing to withdraw from the ODI circus ... Very happy to see him concentrate on Tests.

Certainly he has played some wonderful innings in this format , indeed has just started to do so again recently , after a flat period , which perhaps makes his decision a bit surprising. But England haven't actually won anything in the fifty over game ...and with the next World cup three years away it makes sense to force the next generation of aggressive batsmen to step up now.

It is a pity though that a compromise could not have been reached which would have allowed him to bow out of T20 after England attempt to defend their world title in that format in a few months...
