There has been talk about who will play against Scotland in an ODI series at the same time as the Lions are playing, shortly before the Test side is due to play SA.

How about themed sides, made up of intriguing XIs of players not likely to feature in those games? My first choice it a 2005 Ashes heroes XI. OK, not all of these played in that series, or the ODIs that year, for obvious reasons. But then when you see a band doing some old classic album, they always throw in a few other hits of the period in the encore. So as much as possible, these players featured for England between 03-06 in that classic peak Fletcher period. All players have to be still playing CC.
