I wonder how low will the media sink in an attempt to get headlines. Some of these journos love watching England lose, dont they?

The papers have plumbed depths a lot lower than exposing the questionable actions of a highly paid cricket player.

Are you suggesting that the ECB should have ignored the whole thing when it surfaced in the media?

That would be the most ridiculous thing I’d ever heard in support of Pietersen, and that takes some doing.

The SA ODIs may be too soon. There weren’t many others who predicted that Pietersen would be out of the 3rd test and I have to say I’d be surprised to see him play for England again in any format.

It's hard to know what's going on at present, Morris was very much focused on this issue being resolved when the Board comes to look at who gets a central contract for the next season - in a couple of weeks or so time - whereas the most recent sources from the ECB are saying that Saturday - the day the World T20 squad is announced - is a cut off for any potential resolution.

There are always two sides to a coin. I read about this on the net, and my conclusion is that he never played for Hampshire as he had a busy intl schedule, and the Notts Captain threw his kit and trashed it, so he had differences there.

sportbloggeradi wrote:It is also a fact that he had issues with some English players. Who they are i don't know, so i cannot name them.

How is it a fact when you dont know what it is?

sportbloggeradi wrote:Also i have observed he has issues with CSA, Peter Moores, Andy, Strauss, ECB .

Again with CSA, he never had issues as he never played for SA. was never in contention.

He impressed members of Nasser Hussain's England side when playing for KwaZulu Natal in 1999; he took four top-order wickets and, despite batting at number nine, scored 61 not out from 57 balls, hitting four sixes.[38] Hussain then recommended that Pietersen secure a contract with an English county side.[39]

Despite the praise from the England side, Pietersen claimed he was dropped from the Natal first team. Pietersen felt that this was due to the country's racial quota system, in which provincial sides were required to have at least four non-white players.[4][40][41] Pietersen's view was that players should be judged on merit, and described it as "heartbreaking" when he was left out of the side, although he later reflected "it turned out it was the best thing that could have happened".[42] Pietersen has since firmly criticised the quota system,[43] which he feels forced him out of the country of his birth.

It has been the second time in a year that Anderson chose to spoke out about his disappointment with the ECB's selection policy, sparking Andy Flower to come out in the second instance and issue a rather firm reasoning for the decision in a measure that, for me, was nothing more than a public showing to Anderson that he was boss.

If KP has issued a statement saying he was "extremely disappointed" with the ECB and its selectors or more than one occasion, no doubt it would be an Everest sized mountain made out of the molehill.

Interesting how the analysis of meaningless garble is interpreted in different ways when different people say it.... Anderson is clearly speaking of discontent with the management, why is this not rebellious or confrontational, especially when he said something similar when dropped for the ODI series v India?

Why is similar remarks from KP completely different?

This is the money shot for me.... you can come back if you leave your dignity at the door and admit defeat??!!!??? This is insulting, if I would KP I would rightly tell them to shove their test team where the sun dont shine.Apologise for what exactly? For the offence caused by text messages the ECB cant verify the nature of.... the arrogance of such a demand makes my blood boil.

If his team mates suspect it's not sincere, it's hardly going to promote team harmony, then. In fact, it may make it even worse.

What KP should be thinking is "Those ******** (in the SA camp) who I thought were my friends have ratted me out to the papers to get me out of this test. I'm going to do everything to get back in the England side and eventually we will meet again and am determined to destroy them with the bat next time".

I don't even know why KP should apologise. He should have walked away from the whole farce by now. I hope he doesn't. But if he has played his last game for the national team, then that's a victory for bad management at the ECB. It seems that they want to alienate him. They clearly don't, but that is a measure of how appallingly they have dealt with this.

If you individualise your relationship with each player, as I'm sure the ECB think they do, they could hardly have chosen a path more likely to drive the (supposedly) vulnerable but self regarding Pietersen away!
I always say that everybody's right.

Not sure about KP but the ECB seem to be looking to do a bit of chest puffing here.

ECB stands for Egotistical (modded) (modded).
