It will be interesting to see if the selectors announce the T20 squad today as planned or take the opportunity to delay until the new deadline.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

All that's been said is how well Bairstow batted today and how well he played for the team, given the situation he found himself in.

Played well for the team?

In the sense of Bairstow's approach to the situation the team found themselves in. Not all of our batsmen, including some celebrated recent ones, have always done that.

Tuesday, apparently. Don't expect to see KP in to be honest.

I don't either. The ECB suggested there's a lot of bridge-building to do before he gets back in any England side.

I don't know why they would delay it if there wasn't at least an outside chance that KP would be included, I don't think it's particularly likely that he will be though.

I think I heard that they didn't want to announce it in the middle of a Test.

The ODI squad for the South Africa series was always going to be announced on Tuesday, so it really means the ECB can concatenate two press conferences into one I guess.
Anything can happen with a round ball.

Coz we're going up, and we'll win the cup, for Sussex by the Sea!

I expect they've picked the squad, but don't want a press storm, or unhappy players, in the middle of the Test, so they are waiting for it to finish.

i think its sensible to wait until the end of the test, i would say your safe putting money on kp not being in the squad

as for kp, well hes just tomorrow chip paper (to paraphrase a quote)

Funny how they talk about today's newspaper being tomorrow's chip wrapping but do any fish shops use newspaper as wrapping any more?
