Thank you, that proves he's not been so far ahead of the others as to warrant all the extra time and effort it takes just to keep a lid on him. It was always going to end in tears, get him cried out and pack him off to whatever T20 league he wants to play in. And if he wants to throw his toys out the pram with them, let him.

KP scores a ton at the bowlers graveyard that is Taunton and it gets raved about, bemoaning of his exclusion in the South Africa ODI series. Is this the same Kevin Pietersen who got out to a golden duck, off the part-time spin of Liam Dawson the other week?KP might be a world beater on his day but that's how far it goes, Tim Bresnan has proved that one talented player has already got replaced by another talented player.

im guessing you havent seen the delivery that dawson got kp out with, was an absolute snorter pitched leg hit off, would have got many a batsmen out first ball.

kp going pretty well in the county championship this year, 477 runs in 4 innings at 159 with a sr of 99.8

That is exactly it. KP can win matches for any team he plays in, no-one has ever denied that. The problem is the problems, tantrums and diplomacy required in coaxing him through from one match-winning performance to the next. And, as I said, comparisons of different games where others weren't playing is always a fruitless task. For all we know KP could have quite easily been bowled by Peterson or bounced out by Parnell third ball for nothing and we'd have done no better. Taunton especially is a ground where the odds are always slightly tipped toward the batsman anyway.
Anything can happen with a round ball.

Coz we're going up, and we'll win the cup, for Sussex by the Sea!

England looked a troubled and fragmented side in the field today. All without Kevin. Isolating Pietersen as a symbol, an emblem for team discord isn't working.

Yep - they're letting him linger like a bad smell. They need to be ruthless.

There seems to be absolutely no doubt over KP as a player even those who are supporting ECB. The issue is about KP adjusts to the coach, captain, team mates and board.

ECB holding a news conference today and it is strongly rumoured that Strauss will resign as England captain.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

To some, perhaps. To others, they will have seemed a team simply outplayed by superior opponents.

The notion that the team are using the Pietersen thing in such a way is highly fanciful.

Well we now have it confirmed that Morris and Flower are set to meet KP and disguss his future as part of an England side.

Interesting to see that the Daily Mail have gotten away scott free for publishing lies about the content of the texts.

Everyone have a go on Twitter at Lawrence Booth.

I'd do it myself but he seems a little sensitive to mild criticism.

Presumably, if they were lies, Pietersen’s legal team will soon be on the case. Let’s see if they are…

It is a good ready made case study for Cook. He knows now what the problems in team are, who is doing what. Offcourse Strauss also had this case study but still story repeated itself. Can Cook manage it :?: Only time will tell.
