I mean the one that flashes up and blocks the screen. For me, it appears every other click on the site. I click on the cross, then it flashes back up.

Thanks Splinters. I usually find these things not as easy as they sound.

If you're using firefox or chrome it's fairly easy Arthur not sure about Internet Explorer as I haven't used it since Microsoft made it uncompatable with downloading some Microsoft Office files, just a click of a button and the Wizzard of Oz will do the rest.

In other news. this is the first year since 09 that there have been less than 100 ODIs scheduled.

Just downloaded an adblock for Safari, which is already improving my enjoyment of the internet. Thanks. Fantastic, the advert on this site has gone! But it hasn't stopped this thing on cricinfo. Is no one else seeing it? It's to subscribe to the ESPN magazine. It locks the page, so you have to click on close to see the page. I don't know the name for that kind of advertising.

The person who devised the adblocker is suggesting I give them some money. Would people really send bank details to a complete stranger? Other means seems like going to a lot of trouble.

Must admit I've never seen the advertisment you're refering to but then again I don't see any ads on the internet anymore.

As for sending people money over the internet, that's what services such as paypal were devised for, though actually banks such as Barclays have really woken up to the threats of the internet, just to access my own accounts to check my balances or if payments have been made I have to whip out a little machine, enter my card and pin code which generates a unique number for that log in, the wonders of technology!

Not complaining however, I remember when banks used to be open for a couple of hours a day, shut for lunch and weekends or really any time they might be useful for someone who actually works!

Fair enough to block ads on ESPNcricinfo as they are intrusive(?) but I'd remember to turn it off for other sites that run off ad revenue completely and aren't a big corporation. That's what I do.

(The amazon ad on here doesn't make much btw unless you click through it so I didn't mean that)

Hey! I've just paid $20 dollars for it. Got to get my money's worth....

Take it I'm the only one getting this thing with cricinfo. Have to try other sites instead.

But you didn't have to pay anything for it though Arthur, you're just too nice.

Well, he was asking for 30. So I chiselled ten big ones off him.

No I got it once and it went which is probably what's meant to happen with it. Pop-up advertising is wrong almost always tbh.

Probably need a pop up blocker then, poor Arthur's wallet is going to be begging for mercy come the end of the day.

The pop up blocker is on. Though you still get market research for the site. BBC seem to ask me my opinion of their site every other week. I suppose ESPN will leave me alone eventually. BBC is fine for checking county scores.

Players that have been awarded a central contract: James Anderson, Ian Bell, Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Alastair Cook, Steven Finn, Eoin Morgan, Matt Prior, Graeme Swann and Jonathan Trott.

Incremental contracts: Jonny Bairstow, Ravi Bopara, Craig Kieswetter and Graham Onions.

Really surprised that Samit Patel didn't get a incremental contract.
