Any road up, we've no chance in India, especially with there being no UDRS.

No UDRS? I thought that was being made compulsory?

I think we do have a chance. India look to be re-building. Could be a good time to tour!

As far as I'm aware, the BCCI have not changed their stance since this...

With KP and a fit Swann and as long as we don't fall into the silly 2 specialist spinners trap, I might actually start to feel quietly confident about our chances in India.

If one believes that the lack of UDRS and, therefore, less technological and public scrutiny of their decisions brings no opportunity for influencing umpires, I suppose.

If only Bresnan rather than KP had a fall out with the ECB, this thread might not have been so long.

Mmm, there is that.

Anyway, not much we can do about that apart from take our best team.

The argument that the absence of DRS somehow precludes KP from selection is about as ludicrous as it can get.

The ICC were talking a while back of having only one elite umpire standing in tests with a local umpire as they do in ODI games. Without DRS that would open up a whole can of worms.

First of all, it would have had to happen. Bresnan, shall we say, seems to have a rather different personality.

I get the impression that Bresnan and KP are like chalk and cheese.

Bresnan is a lovely guy who has more steel in him than his amiable behaviour suggests. KP could learn a lot from him.

Strange expression, “chalk and cheese”. I suppose the alliteration’s a factor.

Yep, one is a truly world class player, the other is a decent player.

I wouldn't say Bresnan is world class quite yet!

Now, cheese and onions go together, a bit like Bairstow and Onions (in terms of their roughly equal batting abilities).
