Having once been involved in converting an old Sherman tank into a giant vacuum cleaner, I'm pretty sure the suction heads of the Daleks could be designed to reduce suction at the appropriate moment. The umpires might have difficulty calling foot fault no balls though.

Yes, but would they? A Dalek might not like being no-balled and it’s not always wise to annoy them, you know.

Any road up, it wouldn't be as ludicrous as suggesting Onions could replace Bairstow and not "significantly weaken our batting" as one expert said recently.

D/L this is too much, stop, please.

I assume a similar admonition (though why one was needed for describing a view as "ludicrous", I fail to see) has gone to the other party (actually, the first one to express the view in this exchange), though I have to say I have not yet seen it, ddb.

I'm sure there is no deliberate intention not to be even-handed.

It's persistent mocking of another poster.

And you don't need to see everything to know things have gone on, just like KP texts :)

You may see it as such (and it is asking much for moderators to be perfectly impartial in all things), but it is a way of challenging the credibility of a view one sees as rather silly. Many people use it with impunity on this board.

It is little different to having a view, for example, in support of Bresnan, challenged because of the county he plays for. This too, may be seen as unfair, but I’ve not seen anyone admonished for it.

Surely, if one is to be consistent, a seemingly new policy of intervening in something so trivial is going to increase the workload of the moderators considerably.

Of course, over 10 mentions of Onions/Bairstow in mocking a poster in a couple weeks is trivial even after you were told to drop it, no provocation at all.

Any count of the number of occasions on which support for Bresnan has been attributed to his playing for Yorkshire? The repeated implication being that one is being disingenuous through county loyalty.

It would be interesting to know, from an even-handedness point of view, if that is the policy on CMS.

Another question for you, ddb; is the sarcastic tone of your message really appropriate for the role of moderator? i.e...

I pm'd another poster about this issue earlier, twice in fact, not that this information needs to be disclosed anyway. The introspection is a bit unwarranted but please let's move on. If you still have an issue, pm me.
