Seriously how can there still be issues to be resolved? It should either be yes or no by now.

Personally if I was KP, I'd tell them to stuff it. They're just taking the p*** now.

Maybe that's what they're hoping he'll do.

No matter you stand on the entire issue it's fairly laughable that the ECB have not been able to resolve the situation either way by now.

Agreed MS,

Issues still to be resolved? The ECB are acting like this is Palestine and Israel they are sorting out.

Our batting looks painfully shallow, and having seen Morgan get obliterated in the sub continent, the middle order may get shredded in India.

In a press release(from KP's side),

"Pietersen has met with - and apologised to - Andrew Strauss. He has also met with Alastair Cook to stress his commitment to England. Met with ECB Board members including face-to-face meetings with Hugh Morris, David Collier and Andy Flower prior to his departure to SL"

This is real funny. ECB side and KP sides in media. :lmaoagain Wonder if every board and every cricketer is having their own side amongst media industry.

Given the way KP has behaved in the past few months, it's only right ECB are giving other players a chance and KP is back at the queue. Only way KP can get back in the England squad is to skip next years IPL and put runs on the board for Surrey.

"Runs" are not the reason why KP is not in the squad.

Indeed... its entirely fair that Morgan, a man with a FC average below 35 and test average just above 30, should be recalled in KP's place....

After all, the attitude display with both being put back into county cricket certifies 100% that the ECB got their decision right.....

Morgan scored 100 runs in 7 innings at 18 runs per go.... KP scored nearly 600 at a bradmanesque high 90's average, a best of unbeaten 234, another big hundred also......

Got to say, brilliant selection policies there....

Ain't gonna happen...the IPL contract offers KP financial security, which he won't get from a poisoned relationship with the ECB.

I'm really disappointed with KP issuing a media statement through his PR guys; he had a great chance to show that he had listened and learned from the way the entire summer has unfolded by keeping quiet but sadly chose not to, on the plus side at least it was nothing that anyone can be angry with him saying and does at least give a little insight to what has been happening since the Test series including Strauss' continued involvement.

Still I wish he'd not done it, on the plus side though to me at least his exclusion does show that the ECB, Captain and Coach are commited to making sure that if he does come back it is only going to be when everything is properly sorted out rather than before hand, I am however amazed that the ECB have been unable to resolve this issue one way or another by now.

Sometimes I don't think people on this forum understand how an IPL contract works.
