I called into question the possible veracity of the article in the first post after the link!

That is interesting. Any link to a report of that?

But presumably, the general middle order chaos comes down to Miller (perhaps Flower). He is responsible for selection.
“Miller was told not to pick him”? Any evidence for that or is just yet more wild speculation? Perhaps (so far) both Miller and the ECB share the same values.
Saying that the ECB was responsible for KP not being picked is a bit like saying the government were responsible for the end of John Stonehouse’s political career.
From the horse's mouth."I've not been given the opportunity to select him because of the issue," Miller told BBC Radio 5 live. "When the board says everything is OK, we will revisit the selection process.

Slight correction, it seems from the Telegraph article - though not sourced - that it was Flower who told the selectors not to consider KP, however from Morris' comments it seems the Board also has the ultimate say in the matter.

are you really that naive that you can still think that the ecb haven't handled this whole thing badly after everything thats happened ?
i'm quite happy to acknowledge that KP has been an idiot and has done a number of things that he will live to regret, if he isn't already, but the head in the sand attitude that believes the ECB have been faultless in all of this crap is incredible

The press is turning already. Not hardcore haterz maybe. Though even Selvey is expressing regret that he hasn't been picked. It only takes a couple of defeats for the machine to go into reverse, even though they had been losing with KP. From pressurising the ECB to punish Pietersen, they will soon be telling them to pick him. Unless Morgan, Bairstow and Compton do really well.
