Weasel words from both parties, and no mistake.

hopeforthebest wrote:"With regards the issue of the BBM messages, due to the fact that Kevin had not retained the BBM messages, this matter has been successfully concluded through a binding assurance provided to ECB by Kevin. Kevin conceded that the messages exchanged were provocative. ECB is satisfied, following receipt of this binding assurance, that to the best of his recollection, Kevin did not convey any messages which were derogatory about the England Captain, the England Team Director, the ECB or employees of the ECB. Furthermore, there was no tactical information whatsoever provided to members of the South African Touring Party."
Now everything is so clear, I'm glad that's got it sorted out.

He's basically saying he didn't send anything he considered to be offensive at the time but others might find them to be so, I'm sure that's been brought up somewhere before...

It seems that is the only place Pietersen had to go, to create the impression in the minds of some that he has simply been misunderstood. Perhaps this means that, for once, the advice has been good and he’s taken it.

Of course D/L, of course. Or maybe it's actually true, you actually don't ahve anything to show otherwise and this agreement has been reached by people with a far more complete view of the picture than anyone on here. Though obviously the next line of attack is going to be trying to cast aspersion on their motives for doing so one would imagine.
Thankfully it seems to all be over now baring the shouting.

Its been put to bed now. Best to leave it. Hes given a binding assurance that "to the best of his recollection" (smirks) that texts werent bad. That's it - unless the contents do come out in future and his recollection is wrong,in which case hes finished.
