huge difference tho adi between the two things

the BCCI were looking to use games in scotland and ireland for commercial reasons which impinged on existing contracts the ECB have

what possible motive can the BCCI have for refusing to allow young cricketers to visit india to experience playing in those conditions other than being petty ?

IPL is like that only. It is majorly a business model and i agree it is commercial reasons that made BCCI look at option of exhibition matches in country like Ireland.
BCCI wants players form all countries to play in IPL, but when SCPL, FPL, PSL, BBL and BPL look for Indian cricketers, BCCI snub them by not providing NOC. It is double standard. They are trying their best to not contribute in development of other T20 tournaments by blocking Indian players from playing in them. Yes the Indian schedule is too busy but why cant they allow Rayyudu, Tiwary etc who are not part of any Indian international teams .

From what i have heard now, BCCI is upset about the various T20 tournaments recruiting foreign players. So the players gain enough money from various T20 tournaments and now they are no more dependent on IPL. Mitchell Starc said no to IPL. He knows he will earn it enough in big Bash, FPL for Yorkshire etc. Same with other cricketers. The only failure is BPL for salary reasons. Still there are about 4 decent enough T20 options apart from IPL. IPL will offer more money than anyone else but those cricketers content with earning enough from other tournaments are now having options.

McGrath to Atherton. The best one being at Gabba '98 when McGrath before the match said he will bowl a touch fuller and get him out caught in the slips and he executed it to perfection. The in between length, awkward bounce and Atherton tending to stay back leading to most of those dismissals.

Ah, that McGrath. Let it be extreme heat of Sharjah, unresponsive surfaces of India and Pakistan, VVS on 250 at Calcutta or, wickets that assisted seamers, he was always there. McGrath and Warne? What a dream combination.

The no-ball law has been amended. Finn breaking the stumps in his delivery stride will be a no-ball from October.

The MCC Committee has announced that, from 1 October 2013, the bowler breaking the stumps during the act of delivery shall be called a No ball.

Not really, but it is good to see the MCC and hopefully the ICC making a firm decision on something pressing.

We had this discussion a few months ago didn't we? Forget the ins and outs but to me, it makes it clearer at least.

They needed to make it a no ball, or say to just ignore it. One of the two. Dead ball isn't any use. I finally decided they should just ignore it. But a no ball is better than doing nothing.

Well Finn and Lillee now have something in common, both forcing the MCC to consult and ammend their rule book, hopefully this is a sign that Finn is on the path to bowling like Den too.
