Afghanistan turned over Sri Lanka in the under 19 Asia Cup.

I took my daughters dog for a walk today. I walked all around the riverside ground, and could almost still hear the roar of the crowd as Australia completely capitulated as England exerted their will and their dominance.

Hard to believe that that was only a little over 4 months ago.

We must have gone through some sort of time warp........ or something

Pujara's award was well deserved. Well done to Kevin O'Brien. And Clarke was a worthy winner.

Pujara is hardly an emerging cricketer - he made his Test debut in 2010.

That award is the kiss of death....

Who were the previous winners of that award?

2004 - Irfan Pathan (only IPL now)
2005 - Kevin Pietersen (still around)
2006 - Ian Bell (still around)
2007 - Shaun Tait (concentrating on T20s now)
2008 - Ajantha Mendis (only really playing T20s regularly)
2009 - Peter Siddle (not the leading Aussie pacer)
2010 - Steven Finn (dropped)
2011 - Dev Bishoo (dropped)
2012 - Sunil Narine (only just recalled to Test team)
Nobody has a stance quite like the mighty Shivnarine....

It seems somehow wrong to insert a comment on Arthur's Performance of the Year thread - at least until he invites them ?

But I am loving the poetic images... :clap

Someone else said something similar. I don't know how I've given that impression. Comments always welcome. Thanks for the positive mention.

I like the thread, but am a bit disturbed by the images.

I reckon the whole thread is homage to the 60/70's band The Crazy World of Arthur Brown.

It would be not right to post comment on the thread - at least until it's finished - it is a work of art.

That's the kind of pitch we'd put Panesar and Swann out on and then conclude they don't win matches playing together.

Canada had a win! The men in red turned over the men in orange. No Tom Cooper, no Netherlands.

England's women batted long enough in their test match for the new ball to become available.

I can't remember the last time the men did that.... I'm guessing Lords.

The England women did the job very nicely :clap

Looking a bit "interesting" this morning when Perry started off at seven per over and took Australia to 99/5 quickly : but one wicket brought a clatter and England had plenty to spare when they took the last wicket at 123.
Perry deservedly was awarded the Player of the Match despite finishing on the losing side , for an outstanding individual effort - two top scores and eight wickets in the match !
But a fine team effort from England. Gives them a nice start in the points race for the Ashes with six limited over games to follow...
Something to celebrate :pint

Graeme Smith is now an Irish citizen meaning Surrey can play him as a domestic player.
