I've mentioned this before, but, for the last time. Before the 2010 Ashes Test in Brisbane KP expressed his sympathy for flood victims in Queensland before the first Test in Brisbane, and gave some money and cricketing items to the disaster appeal over and above contributions made by the whole team. Come the first Test at the Gabba, KP got booed out into the middle.... Showing Kevin is whatever the opposite is of teflon coated.

I wouldn't say that this is necessarily true in Pietersen's case, but many celebrities who find themselves in bad odour with the press and the public have been advised by their agents etc. to do something in the public eye that may help to repair the damage.

One story from Tremlett, who wouldn't have been in many England dressing rooms with Pietersen and who also says "Things have happened with Kevin along the way that have upset the ECB in the past", a reference to Pietersen's self-confessed act of disloyalty towards Strauss, perhaps.

The other in the "Mirror", is not even a direct quote from Kirsten, but the newspaper's own interpretation of something said to have been privately confided.

It's all just newspapers being newspapers. Well, I suppose the "Guardian" is a newspaper of sorts.

I doubt if much will come to light, given the confidentiality agreement that's almost certainly in place relating to the termination of his contract with the ECB. No publisher in their right mind would touch it if it breached that and it would if you expect any more significant information.

KP will be in the limelight before long no doubt - but whilst I write this post it already feels similar to fish and chip paper.

I see three options....

1) KP plays in the Caribbean from July 5-9, flies back to England, stays there until July 25, and returns to the Caribbean to play until August 10;

2) KP skips the Glamorgan game, plays in the Caribbean July 5-14, flies back to England, stays there until July 25, and returns to the Caribbean to play until August 10.

3) KP misses the start of the CPL, stays in England, and joins the CPL after July 25, and plays until August 10.

It's not difficult, especially if he ends up at Jamaica with his good friend Gayle, because there are flights from Kingston to Gatwick every day....

I think the fact we went into the competition drafting in new players in until the last minute and relying on a many times failed strategy of pace in Asia suggests the side wasn't prepared well. Still, it's only T20, and bigger fish are waiting to be fried. Going in without KP was one factor in a larger shambles.

Not respecting conditions,picking out of form bowlers,bad fielding and yes KP non selection made huge difference.All mistakes which could easily be avoided at strategic level.
