Aside from trying to find the money for it and an audience to watch it there shouldn't be any problems.

With 30 M boundaries and dancing cheescake men it could work in Oz. Maybe the sheilas would go wild.

Hampshire Cricket today announced a new initiative to introduce Test Match cricket to a new, younger generation of fans.

Traditionally the preserve of the more mature cricket lover, Hampshire Cricket will put in place a number of exciting, engaging and entertaining attractions that are designed to make sure the 3rd England vs India Investec Test is truly a Test Match for the next generation.

With the Test Match taking place from July 27–31, it will be a fantastic way to let children see some of their sporting heroes, such Stuart Broad and Virat Kohli, in the flesh and keep them entertained during the school holidays.

Over the course of the match Hampshire Cricket will look to host a variety of activities for children such as magicians, laser quest and fun fair attractions.

The Club is, however, keen to ensure it maintains a strong cricketing focus and will be offering children the chance to sign up for free coaching sessions that’ll be run throughout the day, by professional coaches from Hampshire Cricket.

Speaking about the announcement, Stuart Robertson, Commercial Director, Hampshire Cricket said: “As the newest, and most modern, Test ground in England, we believe we are the Test Match venue for the next generation. A Test Match between England and India is the biggest game we’ve hosted at the Ageas Bowl and we want to use this opportunity to introduce Test cricket to a new, younger audience.

“We have consulted widely with other attractions in the area, undertaken research and also spoken directly to some of our junior members to ask them what entertainment they would like to see at a Test Match. The results have been insightful and I think both parents, but especially children, will be excited with the kinds of entertainment and experiences we’ll have on offer throughout the Test Match.”

Situated an hour or less away from London, Brighton, Portsmouth and Reading, the Ageas Bowl is easily accessible for anyone living in the South of England. With excellent transport links from all major stations in the area, as well as a Park & Ride Scheme, it couldn’t be easier to get to and from the ground.

I thought Amla wasn't keen on being captain? I seem to remember he wasn't comfortable when he was vice captain.

It is something that was predicted 6 or so years back (with no consideration given to Amla's preferences, of course).

I remember this well. It's like a moment trapped in time forever.

I see the ECB have dismissed the idea of a women's 'IPL' out of hand

In 5 years time this will probably be a huge event earning staggering amounts of money for someone not called the ECB
