No, I came along 6 years later. First world cup I remember, and that is vaguely, was 1978.

I have vague recollections of 1974, mostly the final and the penalties and an English ref, the rest is a blur. 1978 was the first world cup I took real notice in, cracking goals and Archie Gemmel.

I was a few months old and still on my pram. My mum walked in front of the TV screen during the game and played hell with her, so she took my to my gran's. I never got to see the game even though I had no idea what was happening at that age.

Yep I was 2 and living on an air force base in Germany. Can't say I remember much of those first world cups as by the early 70's we were in Darwin with virtually no TV. Two channels which aired for maybe 6 hours a day unless this god awful boring game of cricket was on between England and Australia. How little I knew then that I would fall in love with the game.

Celtic have been reinstated into the Champions League after going out 6-1 on aggregate to Legia Warsaw.

Legia won 2-0 last night but brought on a sub four minutes from time who was actually ineligible to play. As a result Celtic were awarded a 3-0 win which meant they went through on away goals.
