I think I know which person who are talking about it might have been the South African/Zimbabwe or West indies commentator that worked in one of the T20 world cup games.
She was dreadful.

Possibly? Not as bad as Nick Knight though :D

There's a tendency maybe to judge something new against the best. When in fact almost all commentators from any demographic will be found some between Botham and Atherton, in terms of quality.

George Bailey has stepped down as Oz T20I skipper, citing asperations of concentrating on red ball cricket. Aaron Finch is expected to get the arm band.

Funnily enough, last night I was wondering if Maxwell would be considered for the ODI captaincy with Clarkes career winding down and Baileys not exactly young.

Maybe he'll get the T20 gig, he has a smart cricket brain and guaranteed a place.

Just read that. I reckon Georgie's international days are numbered. But I have well undersold him before.

Other names being considered include; Cameron White, Dave Warner, Brad Haddin, Twatto, and Steve Smith.

My personal preference would be Finch, Smith, and Maxwell, in that order. Warner, I expect to be around a while, but he is just a gun for hire - and a scattergun (blunderbuss?) at that. The others already have had a rebore.

I'm surprised Agnew is rising to the bait but looking at his tweets he seems to be enjoying the attention.

Agree with this article.
England's targets should be to beat the best sides in the world at that time, regardless of who that might be, to get to world number one in all formats and to win the World Cup and the World T20.

You can put them in the order of your choosing, but the Ashes shouldn't be on the list. If England get the other stuff right success in the Ashes will follow anyway.

Especially with this point.

I'm sure the aim of any team is to win as much as they can. I'm not sure England actually prioritise the Ashes in a meaningful way, and they wouldn't rest players against any of the top sides. If the players and fans feel an extra frisson in any particular contest, that is uncontrollable. In trying to downplay something that is currently quite popular, you aren't going to make other competitions more attractive, you just lose the specialness of the competition in question. Sort of like football and the FA Cup.
