And it is actually Flower and Whitaker who have repeatedly refused to give Taylor the chance he probably deserved, elevating many batters over his head (jokes are available) since 2012.

KP was very encouraging when batting with Taylor at Headingley in a valuable stand, talking to him quite a lot, and running after him after Taylor was out to give him a pat on the bum.

The point I'm making is that Pietersen has behaved in a way that he criticizes in others. He's a bully, a sneak and probably is upset with the cliques because he wasn't invited to be part of them.

No, he likes the whole of that 2005 team, though he falls out with Strauss later, obviously.

What a shameless apologist you are on behalf of KP. In public he pats Taylor on the bum and then goes to Flower behind his back and slags him off. His justification for it was that every senior player has the right to say who is good enough to play for England. This he said on BBC 5 live.

I've been critical of KP where I think he deserves it. He may well have wished Taylor well without believing he was international class. I did criticise Kevin's comment for being facetious. If he thought as a senior player he should have a voice in the team, which it appears the other senior players did, then I agree with that. His comment in this case wasn't helpful, though harmless. More harm was done by Flower leaking it, as he and Morris do continually through 2012.

I cant see the damage here, the only damage occurred because a view was leaked from a private conversation. Senior players should have the trust with their coach to disclose their views on the team, after all, why waste the experience of great players by not consulting them?

I think the key to this is how KP reacts. He uses what he has at his disposal with the player in question to install confidence and "fake" a sense of belief in him. He hasn't disregarded him as damaged goods and lost hope in him.

That to me shows an encouraging attitude towards the player. If the leak of his view hadn't occurred, Taylor could have walked away from KP's actions with positivity, and some belief in his ability.

Without KP's book, those questions in that article wouldn't have been written, in spite of the fact that many fans have been asking them.

KP on 5 live:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/29588010

His claim that Alex Stewart said he was told players were contributing to the fake twitter account is inaccurate. Stewart said Bailey told him players had access to the password and denied they made contributions.
