If KP wants to have any sort of chance of making any sort of comeback, he needs to play some county cricket next year. If he doesn't it means he either doesn't really want to make a comeback, or he does want to make a comeback but can't really be arsed to work for it if it isn't handed to him on a plate.

As far as I'm concerned any player who isn't prepared to do whatever it takes to get in the test team, doesn't deserve to be in the test team

I think I've posed this question before but to be sure I do so again. Is KP an enigma? surely he's rather a transparent character that behaves exactly the way you expect him to.

Maybe, but he was told as recently as last weekend that there was no chance of him playing for England ever again. By the chief selector. When KP says he wants to play for England, it's an unrealistic, notional hope. There's no chance of it happening. If he carried on as if expecting to get back in the side, he would be being delusional. If all the people lost their job in order for KP to get back in the side, ie, a culling, then he might change his mind. Even then, the new bosses might not want him. But that happening is just a dream.

England's players were JEALOUS of me, claims Kevin Pietersen after IPL cash

Pietersen supposedly covets an unlikely Three Lions recall but in an interview with Australian media to preview Saturday's Big Bash derby between his Melbourne Stars and city rivals Melbourne Renegades, he again used the chance to settle scores with his former team-mates.

He claimed his lucrative Indian Premier League contract caused resentment and he prefers playing in the BBL, where many players participate in franchise cricket in other countries.

'There's no jealousy here. That's the fact,' he said of life with the Stars.

'None of these guys are jealous of anything. We're just good guys, hanging out and playing cricket. All these guys play in franchises around the world, they've all benefited from the IPL.

'The England lads: too much jealousy. I was the only one profiting - very, very well - out of India, and in an auction, if you don't get picked up, it's pretty demoralising.'
