I reckon in thinking about a second spinner it is worth giving Jason Brown another go.

Definitely he and Gary Keedy for the tours of Pakistan and India to follow.

Swann has probably missed out. I bet Alex Loudon is ahead of him.

No me neither. And Marcus North. And for bowlers, below 25, Nathan Bracken, Joe Dawes, Brett Dorey, Mick Lewis, Andy Bichel. I don't think we have to worry about that lot. At least Shane (not Sean, or Brad) Watson reminds me more of Marilyn Monroe than Keith Miller.

I reckon that Bracken fella could be an outside bet

Someone who definitely won't make the Aussie team is Shaun Tait... he played for Durham briefly...... kept bowling 13 ball overs. All over the place. Hopeless with the bat too

Probably best if the Aussies stick with their ageing warhorses

Suppose it depends how desperate Australia get... which is likely not to be that desperate.

Mick Lewis is doing ok in Australia. Might be a good pick up for Durham.

But after Gilo's summer last year, the job is his for as long as he wants it. We know that people posting 'play four seamers and get Vaughan to send down some spin' is secret code for 'I don't know what I'm talking about'.

I reckon fletcher should use specialist fielders as 12 men instead of fat, slow players.
Anyone know any good fielders in county cricket that can do the job.

Plus all the games In FTA I wonder how cricket will be like in 10 years time in grass root cricket with sky getting exclusive rights.

The rotating of fielders has been going on for ever in this country. It's fine. That's not crossing the line. That's our culture. So yes, work that.

Rotate fielders all you want. I think that is the sort of thing the Aussies would appreciate.

Hard to imagine it will be an issue. If it's not just business as usual, things like dropped catches and injuries will be crucial. Stuff like sub fielders, or Ponting chatting to the umpire for five days is just for the ethical Ashes. Which have never existed.

Completely agreed. Sub fielders seems like a non-issue. Ponting seems like a level headed and decent chap. He is quite the bat too. Not yet but maybe soon I think he will be considered better than Tendulkar and even Lara. You would have thought Tendulkar will give it all up soon anyway.

K shoes of Kendal have developed a pair of cricket boots with exceptionally large and protruding heels. I wonder if Shane Warne would be interested in a pair for the Edgbaston test?

SKY have just shown the highlights of the Edgbaston test this morning and I still think we are going to lose when I watch it

I've got tickets for the weekend of the Edgbaston Test. I'm hoping it won't be too exciting. I'll take an innings win over a thrilling and unforgettable game.
