That fifty stand came up in pretty good time without seeming to be doing anything spectacular. Another wicket now would still see England in a good position - but if these two keep going for a while there is potential for Australia to cash in through the later overs ; those bowling all rounders can all hit , not to mention Haddin.
Woakes a bit tighter than in his opening spell , I am pleased to see. But they do need that next wicket...

Not sure Clarke is in their best team now? I thought some people were getting annoyed with him for hanging around. But yes, arguably Clarke for Bailey.

So 103+103=206
206+51.5=256.5

i THINK THE HALF RUN WILL BE THE DIFFERENCE.

G'day. You double it after 30 for the Richie equation don't you?

Oh yeah that's right, I can't believe you remembered that.

Good fifty Maxwell :clap

Bit more restrained than usual , though a few trademark clever variations. Benaud formula now says 240. But it may be out of date ...

Nope definitely the best Australia can bring that's healthy in both mind and body.

An opportunity for a commentator in the WC to make some new formula his own. Double it at 32?

Morning Arthur, oh and Alfie, rich, steve, mark

Wickets are obviously the key. I don't fancy our chances if we have 240 plus to chase.

England now need a wicket to have a chance at keeping Aus under 250.

even better. I was thinking that 100 from the last 50 overs should be failry straight forward.

I might be wrong but I get the impression this could be a hard pitch to slog on , the little bit of uneven bounce might mean its hard to time the really aggressive shots
