The person who voted for Nick Knight in the favourite commentator poll will be upset about that.

Just noticed all the different threads on the World Cup, too confusing for someone like me who only has a vague interest in the tournament. Didn't realise there were so many teams involved and so many irrelevant games. If it was down to me I'd just have a tri series between New Zealand, Australia and South Africa and crown the winner of that World Champions.

really intresting article

Absolutely! I was watching the big match yesterday and within 10 seconds (I timed it using rewind) Warne managed to work Australia into the conversation, saying "the Indians will be enjoying their cricket after being whacked around by the Aussies recently". I have to turn down the commentary when he appears, he is just awful.

Having had the greatest commentator of cricket, maybe the greatest of all sport commentators, to look up to and see how it should be done, it's such a shame to see and hear some of the rubbish that's served up nowadays.

Funny that the banter thing works on the radio. But it depends on the cricket still being the focus. And who is doing the banter.

The article in the Cricketer about reducing the amount of Counties playing 1st class cricket made me so angry, I booed him once as he walked across the pitch at Hampshire.

Shane Watson earns $US3.6 million a year. He's not worth it.

It's peanuts compared to what top Indian players earn. It is a tad suprising to see Watson, a player who is almost constantly injured, to be ahead of the likes of Warner though.

just thinking with the next world cup being down to ten teams what sort of contrived format they are going to have in order to get from 10 teams to 8 for quarter finals and also manage to drag it out over 6 weeks for TV rights
