As the seventh round got underway, Barbados took command of their top of the table encounter at Kensington Oval, reaching 258-5 at stumps on the first day. Kraigg Brathwaite hit 102, and Shai Hope made 69, while legspinner Dev Bishoo has taken four wickets so far for Guyana.

The match at Sabina Park is evenly balanced. Legspinner Damion Jacobs took 4-70 to dismiss Trinidad for 277, Jason Mohammed topscoring with 62. Jamaica were 12 for the loss of Horace Miller's wicket at the close.

It was yet another inept performance from the Leeward Islands, this time at Beausejour, as medium pacer Kenroy Peters took 6-24 to skittle them out for just 161, wicketkeeper Devon Thomas topscoring with 38. The Windwards were wobbling at 92-3 in reply.

In yet another low-scoring match at Sabina Park, 13 wickets fell on the second day, as Trinidad took command. Debutant Brandon King hit 71 in a sole hand as Jamaica were skittled out for 167 by pacers Marlon Richards (4-42) and Denis St Clair (3-21). In reply, Kjorn Ottley hit 87 not out to lead the visitors to 184-4 at stumps.

Barbados were in charge at Kensington Oval at the halfway stage of their match. Legspinner Dev Bishoo took 6-94 to dismiss the hosts for 312, but pacer Miguel Cummins (5-48) hit back to have Guyana reeling at 173-9. Vishal Singh hit 60, and Chris Barnwell 56, but there was not much else.

Nightwatchman Kenroy Peters topscored with 44 as the Windwards made 249, to take command of their low-scoring match at Beausejour on Day Two. Pacer Gavin Tonge (3-67) and spinner Rakheem Cornwall (3-62) took most wickets for the Leewards, who, trailing by 88 runs, were once again struggling at 137-6 at stumps. Sherwin Peters was out for 42, and there were two wickets each so far for pacers Delorn Johnson and Mervin Mathew.

It was another day of dismal batting woes as the Windwards beat the Leewards by nine wickets in Beausejour with a day to spare. Pacers Mervin Mathew (5-32) and Delorn Johnson (3-48) skittled the Leewards out for just 170 in their second innings, Sherwin Peters topscoring with 42. Set a paltry 83 to win, the Windwards achieved it for the loss Johnson Charles' wicket.

In another match that ended in three days, Trinidad beat Jamaica by 179 runs. Kjorn Ottley was out for 99, but there was not much else, as Trinidad were bowled out for 246 in their second innings by legspinner Odean Brown (3-37) and medium pacer Dave Bernard (3-49). Chasing an unlikely 357 for victory, Jamaica were routed for just 177 by legspinner Imran Khan (6-24). John Campbell hit 83 and Jermaine Blackwood 52.

Barbados still held the upper hand in their top-of-the-table clash going into the final day at Kensington Oval. Kraigg Brathwaite hit his second century of the match (112) and Kyle Corbin 52, as Barbados declared on 241-6 in their second innings, pacers Ronsford Beaton and Chris Barnwell taking two wickets each. Chasing an unlikely target of 333, Guyana were 41 without loss at stumps.

In a tournament where low scores are the norm, Guyana chased scored 335-6 to win their top-of-the-table clash with Barbados at Kensington Oval, needing the final hour to eke out the four-wicket victory. It was a bitter blow for Kraigg Brathwaite, who over-confidently declared on Guyana, as Narsing Deonarine hit 90 and there were 60s from Raj Chandrika and Shiv Chanderpaul. There were two wickets each for spinners Jomel Warrican and Ashley Nurse.

And spinners Dev Bishoo (4-62) and Veerasammy Permaul (5-77) have put leaders Guyana in a commanding position on the opening day of the eighth round at Providence, bowling out Jamaica for 258. Jermaine Blackwood and wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton both hit 50s for Jamaica.

Another spinner, Jomel Warrican, took 8-88 to skittle out the Leewards for 215 at Warner Park in St Kitts. Lyndel Richardson topscored for the Leewards with 51. Barbados were 27 without loss at the end of the first day's play.

The Windwards were strongly placed at stumps on the first day, closing at 304-6, thanks to half-centuries from Devon Smith (70), Miles Bascombe (65), and Rommel Currency (52 not out). Legspinner Imran Khan has taken four wickets for Trinidad so far.

Barbados took command of their match against lowly Leewards, forging a lead of 53 runs with four wickets in hand on first innings, at the halfway stage of the match at Warner Park. At stumps on the second day, the visitors were 268-6, thanks to Kyle Corbin (75), Kevin Stoute (63), and Shane Dowrich (65 not out). Part-time spinner Rahkeem Cornwall has taken three wickets to date.

Legspinner Imran Khan took 6-127 to dismiss the Windwards for 350, as their batting fell away once Rommel Currency was out for 59. In reply, Trinidad were 228-4, thanks to Jason Mohammed's 79 not out. Medium pacer Kenroy Peters has taken two wickets so far.

Jamaica secured a narrow 22-run lead over Guyana, when Legspinner Damion Jacobs took 5-67 to dismiss Guyana for 236, Leon Johnson topscoring with 78, and Raj Chandrika making 69. At stumps on the second day, Jamaica were 22-1 in their second innings.

In a closer match than was expected at Providence, leaders Guyana beat Jamaica by five wickets within three days. Spinners Veerasammy Permaul (5-33) and Dev Bishoo (4-22) once again combined to dismiss Jamaica for a paltry 138 all out in their second innings, Jermaine Blackwood topscoring with 47. But pacer Jason Dawes hit back with 3-24 to make the victory target of 163 a little more difficult than it should have been. Captain Leon Johnson made 58 and Vishal Singh 57.

In another match that lasted just three days, Barbados crushed minnows Leewards by nine wickets on a day in which 15 wickets fell. Barbados pushed on to 353 all out, thanks to wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich's 106, and 63 from allrounder Kevin Stoute, against pacers Gavin Tonge (3-75) and Quinton Boatswain (3-63), and part-time spinner Rahkeem Cornwall (3-69). Trailing by 138 on first innings, the Leewards could only manage 150 the second time around, Cornwall topscoring with 53. Spinner Jomel Warrican took 5-50. Chasing 13 for victory, Barbados reached their target for the loss of Kyle Corbin's wicket.

Jason Mohammed hit a round 100 and there were 40s from Kieron Pollard and Yannick Cariah, as Trinidad posted 299 in their first innings, medium pacer Kenroy Peters taking 6-59. Leading by 51 on first innings, the Windwards were 199-5 at stumps at the end of the third day, thanks to 42s from Miles Bascombe and Dalton Polius, and Rommel Currency was still there on 53 not out. Pollard has taken three wickets to date.

Medium pacer Kieron Pollard took 5-36 to dismiss the Windwards for 249 in their second innings, as Rommel Currency was left stranded on 66 not out. Set an unlikely 301 for victory, Trinidad were never really in the chase. Pacer Mervin Mathew took 5-19 to skittle the hosts out for a paltry 125 all out, Yannick Cariah topscoring with 38.

I guess he didn't want to run the risk of being picked to play Tests in April....

They needed his bowling returns in the ninth round at Providence, where Guyana closed the first day in a commanding position on 264-6, thanks to knocks from Raj Chandrika (51), Leon Johnson (49), Assad Fudadin (44) and Vishal Singh (46 not out). Legspinner Imran Khan has taken three wickets for Trinidad so far.

At Kensington Oval, centuries from Shamarh Brooks (124) and Shai Hope (134 not out) put Barbados in charge of their game against the Windwards. The hosts were 287-3 at stumps.

It was another dismal batting performance from Jamaica as they were skittled out for 175 all out at Warner Park by pacer Gavin Tonge (4-34) and part-time spinner Rahkeem Cornwall (3-54). Wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton topscored with 62. Sherwin Peters hit 84 not out as the Leewards closed in a rare strong position, on 122-1.

Shai Hope hit 211 as Barbados closed the second day in a commanding position against the Windwards at Kensington Oval. The hosts were all out for 407, pacer Mervin Mathew taking 3-54. At stumps, the Windwards were 107 without loss, Tyrone Theophile on 51 and Devon Smith 45.

Vishal Singh was out for 52 and wicketkeeper Anthony Bramble 63, as Guyana made 291 all out, pacer Marlon Richards (3-46) and legspinner Imran Khan (3-55) taking most wickets. Yannick Cariah hit 71 not out as Trinidad replied strongly with 173-4 at the halfway stage of the match.

The Leewards were in the rarefied atmosphere of dominating a match at stumps on the second day. Sherwin Peters hit 137 and wicketkeeper Devon Thomas 65 as the Leewards made 285 all out, legspinner Damion Jacobs taking 7-54. Trailing by 110 on first innings, Jamaica only just erased the deficit at stumps, closing at 122-3. Shacaya Thomas, John Campbell and Jermaine Blackwood all once again flattered to deceive, falling in the 20s. Part-time spinner Rahkeem Cornwall has taken two wickets so far.

For the first in a long time, all three matches are heading into a final day, with two of them about to experience the possible rarefied atmosphere of a draw after four full days of play uninterrupted by rain.

At Warner Park, inspired captaincy by Tamar Lambert saw Jamaica fighting back from facing defeat, to go into Day Four with the match now evenly balanced. Wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton hit 72 to lead Jamaica to 274 all out in their second innings, spinners Anthony Martin (5-76) and Rahkeem Cornwall (4-109) taking the wickets between them. Defending a paltry target of 165, Lambert rotated the bowlers intelligently, to leave the Leewards dangerously placed on 139-6, legspinner Damion Jacobs once again leading the way with three wickets to date. The Leewards will depend heavily on captain Devon Thomas (78 not out) who is leading the sole charge for victory.

At Kensington Oval, there was the unusual experience of entering the last day's play with the first innings yet to be completed, and there were no rain interruptions! Replying to Barbados's 480, openers Devon Smith (151) and Tyrone Theophile (125) put on an opening stand of 269, but the rest of the batting fell away for the Windwards to close on 394-8. Offspinner Ashley Nurse has taken four wickets so far for the hosts.

At Providence, Yannick Ottley topscored with 82, and there were 70s from Yannick Cariah and wicketkeeper Steven Katwaroo, as Trinidad made 340 all out, legspinner Dev Bishoo taking 6-79. Trailing by 49 runs on first innings, Guyana were 120-3 at stumps, thanks to a round 50 from Assad Fudadin.

You wait a long time for a draw, and, like buses, suddenly two come along at once.

Devon Thomas kept his nerve, and hit a captain's innings of 99 not out to guide the Leewards to a four-wicket win over Jamaica, their first of the tournament, in the penultimate round. The Leewards made 168-6, while legspinner Damion Jacobs took 3-56.

Leaders Guyana have practically cemented their first hold on the regional four-day title since 1998, when they played out a draw with Trinidad at Providence. In their second innings, Shivnarine Chanderpaul hit 69 not out as Guyana declared on 266-5, spinning allrounders Imran Khan and Jason Mohammed taking two wickets each. Set an unlikely 218 to win in limited time, Khan topscored with 40 as Trinidad closed on 99-3.

A total of 13 wickets fell at Kensington Oval, as the Windwards hung on for the draw. Offspinner Ashley Nurse took 4-98 and pacer Miguel Cummins 3-83 to dismiss the Windwards for 418 in their first innings. With a first innings lead of 64, Roston Chase hit 65 as Barbados made 166-5 declared, spinners Alston Bobb (3-55) and Shane Shillingford (2-65) taking the wickets. Set a target of 232, the Windwards limped to 101-6, Dalton Polius topscoring with 32, and another spinner, Jomel Warrican, taking 5-29.

Guyana's campaign to secure their first hold on the regional four-day title since 1998 got off to a good start, when spin twins Dev Bishoo (6-74) and Veerasammy Permaul (4-64) combined to dismiss the Windwards for 283 on the first day of their match at Windsor Park in Dominica. Veteran opener Devon Smith topscored with 92, and there were 50s from Tyrone Theophile and Keddy Lesporis.

Second-placed Barbados were in a strong position at Sabina Park, reaching 286-8 a stumps, thanks to a round 100 from Shamarh Brooks, and a 59 from Shai Hope. pacer Marquino Mindley has taken four wickets so far for Jamaica.

In a match of academic interest only, Jason Mohammed hit 143 not out to guide Trinidad to 291 all out, while the best bowler for the Leewards was part-time spinner Rahkeem Cornwall with 3-78.
