More likely to be Flintoff doing Top Gear.

He's the one who does TV now. Been on more programmes than Dermot O'Leary.

in all seriousness, i wouldn't blame KP for going back to his IPL deal, ECB aren't covering themselves in all glory at all here..

Dermot O'Leary has more chance of wearing the England shirt as a paid professional this summer than KP does.

Atherton had a column last week where he said KP's IPL deal is relatively modest and once agents fees etc were taken off he wouldn't make a great deal of money.
If that is the case perhaps he might decide it's worth playing for Surrey in order to try and keep his game in good order for various global t20 tournaments. Although if Surrey want him available all season that would presumably rule out the CPL.

I, for one, can not understand how a group of highly paid administrators are so incapable of dealing with this issue.

Yes, they couldn't have handled it more badly if they'd tried.

If KP and Colin Graves are in talks, it should be about a move to Yorkshire for the season where both parties could benefit.

KP provides much needed early season cover as the ECB select half the Yorkshire squad for their own selfish gain. Twenty20 credentials are further boosted, with a devastating batting order containing Finch, KP and Maxwell.

If KP doesn't make the England squad come July, he can go off and play CPL cricket. By then Yorkshire will likely to have least Bairstow back, whilst Finch or Maxwell play as an overseas player.

All Graves needed to say was that KP would be considered if he scored runs in the LVCC. If everyone else had kept their mouths shut then, no matter how honnest the original statement was, this would be done and dusted.

For some reason everyone at the ECB feels the need to stick their oar in in the press.

They just continually remind me of a typical non-accountable self perpetuating public body. Shove them in the environment of the FTSE 100 or 250 and they'd drown. Perhaps that's why Downton took the job.

There are no words...

I've got no real problem with cook in the test team and as captain , how anyone could suggest he has significant leadership qualities is beyond me however , when things start going bad he gets defensive and at times looks lost

I have no doubt that pietersen has often been the victim of his own stupidity and probably isn't an easy guy to deal with but throughout the history of the game we have seen genuinely good leaders find ways to handle maverick talents for the good of the team whereas the ECB chose to exile pietersen to make it easy for cook to surround himself with yes men

anyone can lead a bunch of yes men, just not necessarily in the right direction
