All getting a bit tense out there.

said at the time dropping abbott and bringing philander back could come back to haunt SA , abbott had been bowling way better than philander in the games played so far
that 18 from the second over of the match that philander bowled really got NZ going and he hasn't been a lot better since

The team batting has "resources" or wickets left, but trying to score more runs means you lose that resource. It never made sense that you can assume one team would score more runs than another in the same overs.
The only thing you can say is SA scored 281 from 43 overs.... that should be the target
cant agree with that today , SA were going along at 10-12 runs per over when the rain came and were looking at getting 350 if they had batted the full 50 overs
also when a game is reduced in the situation it was the team batting first would be at a massive disadvantage given they didn't know they only had 43 overs to bat with their 10 wickets in hand when they started, whereas the team batting second do so can take more chances right from the start knowing its a shorter game

It might be enough for them though.
To many dot balls for NZ at present

The D/L concept is fine. My concern is has the D/L algorithm been updated to reflect the new playing conditions (two balls in an innings, only four fielders outside the 30 yard circle) and the resultant "Higher Par Score" per innings. Looking at the adjustment of just 20 runs for 7 overs, that seems unlikely OR may be whatever adjustment to the algorithm is not sufficient enough!!!. It would be interesting to know the current par score for 50 overs as per D/L!!!!

It's fine. RRR is manageable. Duminy has to bowl 25% of the remaining overs.

Yep, could be costly.
Is Steyn injured, he was of the field. SA will need a impact from him
