Indeed. In fact, there was a really large time in Mike Hussey's career (after 2007, when he was maintaining an average of 80 after a healthy amount of games) when he completely lost his offstump. If memory serves, in 2008 Australia went to New Zealand and South Africa, and he was really struggling to make starts, and in the middle of the 2009 Ashes series he must have been out leaving the ball 3 or 4 times, either bowled or lbw.

Growing up and playing a lot in Perth once off stump lines started to snare him, he defaulted to leaving balls on length, but on away pitches with less bounce that was a death trap.

Yesterday it looked very flat though, no pace at all, so hard to see where the match is currently. Could see NZ making 600 on this surface is yesterday conditions are anything to go on.

Probably a bit of a new ball pitch , Sussex. Movement early yesterday was quite pronounced. Later on it looked pretty flat - though the dominant batting of Root and Stokes maybe made it look flatter...

England aren't going to last long here.
