Both views are right, in my opinion.

We've fought back really well to take these last 6 wickets. But at the same, in the eight innings across the last 2 games played here, only one score is higher than this 251. And that by less than 20 runs. Hove is hardly a batting paradise this season, and I could easily see us failing to make 200.

It was one of those freak run outs where the bowler gets a finger on the batsman's straight drive, with the non striker out of his crease.

Joyce has a tendancy to under bowl his main seamers imo, so he will give long spells at some point to Hudson-Prentice and Hobden, both who you feel could go for runs.... not long before Nash or Wells will be on to have a bowl, so this partnership could develop.

Yeah, I'd rather be in Sussex's position right now than ours. That said, Smith has found some form in recent weeks (to the extent that he comes into this as our most in-form batsman).

Players wanting to get on with it whilst they can? Risk that if they just hang around, they'll soon get one with their name on it and no runs to show for their vigil? Aggressive fields maybe, if catching chances are regularly cropping up? (11 of the 13 wickets have been caught - and one of the other two was the freakish run out)

Follow-on avoided, Smith going is a big blow, but Briggs has a habit of grinding out scores, so hopefully he can get 20 or so.
