Somerset look like losing to Notts although they have taken 4 second innings wickets to just about keep them in the game-Notts lead is 299 with 6 wickets left.

The issue with that game though is that Notts look like winning. It's not that I'm targeting 6th place, I'll gladly take 7th. So in that respect Notts winning is not an issue. But clearly the more sides in the relegation mix, the easier it is to avoid 8th. I'd rather it wasn't just a Hants - Somerset shootout.

That's a good point, I hadn't thought of it that way. Somerset look though on the verge of falling apart, they have the talent to get out of the mire but when Durham fought back against them last week they quickly seemed to get demoralised.

I'm wrong again-Somerset cruising to their victory target so that's Notts' mini-recovery stalled.

I saw that, have to be careful especially in the LVCC because 16 points deduction would be disastrous.

16 pt penalty in the CC is a horrendous sanction to have to worry about-it could seriously effect relegation or championship prospects. Don't know which incidents prompted this but having witneseed the antics of Surrey for the past few seasons without any apparent sanctions it does suggest double standards again by the ECB.

I was trying to think of a player likely to be involved and couldn't think of any...but had forgotten about him. You are probably right.

And more specifically who were the particular individuals involved. As it stands someone like Will Smith is starred with the same brush as Matt Coles. Normally individuals are named and penalty points given so perhaps these sanctions were for persistent and aggressive appealing as a group. If so over to Benks.
