Cheers Dawson, a classic example of the mediocrity that inhabits the Hampshire lower ranks in recent times, just can't raise their games to pass muster in CC1.

Good effort from Smith and Wheater before lunch, now need to score at least another 100 runs in the partnership and somehow get the lower order to scrape another 100 or so runs together. Still got little chance even if that happens. Pointless really, trying to grasp at straws in a game that has already gone.

And Wheater out straight after, thats that then, might aswell have a thrash and go home. Hopes were raised after the Sussex game, but we're officially crap again and I don't think Edwards or Vince could have made much differnce.

Nice partnership between Berg and Briggs, Berg continues to be one of our better players with bat and ball. The top order and bowlers take note.

Berg's batting (again) and this 4th wicket partnership for Yorks against Notts are the only things to take out of today.

Notts only have 28 overs left to take three more wickets for a 2nd bowling point, or six more wickets from a 3rd bowling point.
