Positive intent from England to bat first, but sadly that's usually where the positive intent ends. At least until Root and the like get to the crease.

Scoring fairly quickly so far
I would take a slow but steady start to lay a foundation for root/ stokes etc

Wrong thread, but been really busy lately. I have missed the Fantasy League for The Ashes. Am I too late to enter & I don't seem to have received a message with the thread link?
Not the greatest start. Watching an opener play with an angled bat like that so early on has to be down to nerves. Need these two to really build a solid foundation.

I wouldnt have a problem, but some people think the fantasy leagues are the most important thing in the world.
Post a team without anyone who has impacted the game, and I am sure you will be fine (or to pick Lyth also, as he failed)... basically dont pick hazlewood

England can't afford to keep blocking out maidens against Lyon. As the undoubted weakest link in this bowling attack England can't afford to let him settle. They did it with Craig too often against NZ and it came back to bite them in the second test.

Tbf cook wasn't blocking, he has hit four or five straight to the fielders in the first couple of overs
