Nothing says Worcester more than girls in a hot tub.

Wonder how likely it is the ball ends up in there. Would get the ball wet.

Vince about to ton up.

Whiteley has probably sealed a spot in the England T20 squad.

Bit of a farce but Worcs own fault for not having floodlights.

What time did they start this evening? Not sure a bad light decision reflects well on the competition at all!

5.30 I think. Probably Sky to blame because surely an afternoon game would be sensible on a ground with no lights.

5.30, so an hour earlier than the first two QFs.

If Worcs don't have adequate lighting facilities, well then maybe they shouldn't have been allowed to host a QF. I have no sympathy with them. (But then clearly I am biased)

It was the scheduling of the women's test that caused this. The test was at Canterbury all week so Kent had to have the Saturday game. Worcs would almost certainly have had the day game if that slot was available.

Couldn't they have played both on Saturday?

Easily, or even one on Sunday.

Probably Sky talking: didn't want a Saturday evening game as they are showing England rugby, and Sunday clashes with Man City v Chelsea. They had nothing on Wednesday so insist on a game then, for continuity, need a match on Friday.

Or am I being too cynical

The Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday schedule was decided earlier in the season.

The ECB are so inflexible that if Northants finished 4th, then Kent would have had to play 3rd place in the north group as both teams have clashing games (women's ashes/tour game) on those 4 days. Luckily for the ECB, Northants finished 3rd.

Sounds then like a combination of ECB inflexibility and quite possibly Sky playing a role in that.
5.30 start always a big risk because at Durham a 5.30 start often saw conditions deteriorate rapidly during the second innings even in the early weeks of the T20 season. The first game this year was just before the lights were installed and batting was almost impossible for Northants batting second.

Worcs won the toss and chose to bat second because of d/l. Backfired in that Hants got a big first innings score and they were unable to get ahead of the par score at any stage.

Fair result in the end, and let's face it no matter what sort of a season Hants are having they always get to Finals day and no matter how Worcs are playing they never do!
