Cook and Bell were much criticised as an opening pair, rightly in some respects, but against quality fast bowling I expect their stats were pretty reasonable. Criticism of them was usually reserved for the start of the middle overs.

Both well gone now but I haven't seen much to impress me yet. I prefer Hales to Roy - the latter looks a bit out of his depth to me.

Think moeen would be a better option opening instead of roy

But I would imagine he will be given this series to show what he can do

With the WT20 in India, and Root back in the side adding a 3rd spin option (I would expect Rashid/Ali/Root to bowl 8 overs between them) how many pace bowlers are we going to select?

In India, I hope Samit will be considered. And I wouldn't mind Bopara going. Though both are unlikely.

Maybe one specialist pace bowler in the team, and one spare, then Stokes and Willey. Unless you've got very good pace bowlers, they're just going to get shredded. But I'd be surprised if five don't go, including Willey and Stokes.

I hope that they play Mooen at the top. I suspect the long term plan is a 1-2-3 of Hales, Mooen and Root in both limited overs formats, so makes sense to get the openers playing together.

I honestly think that ship has sailed now. Samit too but he's only ever been in and out of the team.

Which is fine. I've been banging on for a few years about how Ravi shouldn't be in the 50 over side. I didn't mind him in the T20I team so much. But in T20I in Asia, I think he has a lot to offer, and is the kind of bowler they need to turn to rather than an attack full of medium fast bowlers. Samit similarly, especially as England don't have a SLA option, and even Rashid mostly turns the ball into the pads. I don't think he ever got a run his performances deserved.

we really don't need another batting all-rounder tho , especially one who has constantly failed to deliver

its already hard enough to fit everyone in a team where we have ali and stokes as part of the bowling attack and trying to fit them into the top 5-6 in the order

I don't think the team playing now would be the eleven you'd put out in Asia. And I'm not sure Ravi was a failure in T20I. I certainly don't want him back in 50 overs.
