one thing I really don't get is with david willey being the man in possession from earlier in the year why he was dropped to accommodate woakes coming back , its not like wokaes has really covered himself in glory in this format and willey did pretty well I thought

I understood Topley had been added. Maybe I dreamed it ...

If they pick up Maxwell cheap they could keep this down to a gettable total. If he gets going it might be out of control. Not going to roll them either way.

Australia bat deep tho as we saw last game

Timely wicket (though I needed Smith for my fantasy team ) but this Aussie team can all give it a clout so the last fifteen overs are going to be tough for the fielding team. Unless you have them 35/5 I don't think Australia can be skittled : which is why I'd nearly always bat first against them and trust to exerting scoreboard pressure.

Given that Topley's fallen out with Essex, it's better for him to be around England even if he doesn't play. Not sure if he's officially in the squad but he is physically there.

More of the same from England so far. No Willey and bowling is lacking penetration again. Rashid expensive but has picked up key wicket of Smith.
