Starc totally within his rights to try and run Stokes out, who was out of his ground.
All the stuff about split second reaction time is straying off the point - that's the speed at which decisions are made by players all the time at this level - a decision which Stokes got wrong on this occasion. I totally agree with GarlicJam.
The most vulnerable persons on the field are, according to Rod Marsh in his recent Cowdrey Spirit of Cricket MCC lecture, the umpires, who have no protection whatsoever. When the ball is hit straight back at them they try and avoid it - they don't put their hand out!
The Lords crowd booing were a disgrace to the home of cricket.

Smith certainly doesn't deserve the agro he's getting and no doubt will be booed when he next comes out to bat.

"Certainly, I think it would've been a lot different if we were fielding," said Morgan, who also revealed he'd Dharamasena had told him the on-field umpires didn't believe it to be out.
Seriously that should be a suspension if Dharamasena really said that, and why would Morgan reveal it.

Morgan said he was told by the on-field umpires, Kumar Dharmasena and Tim Robinson, that they thought Stokes was not out - and gave a 'soft signal' to the third umpire Joel Wilson - but Wilson felt there was conclusive evidence to uphold the Australian appeal.
