Getting him into the side will mean dropping stokes or having either moeen or him opening

For the balance of the side dropping stokes and bairstow then having something like

Taylor

Broad
Wood
Jimmy

But I can't see them dropping stokes even if it is just for balance so one of taylor or the opener won't play

But I'm unsure whether it should be allowed, no problem with a fielder throwing the ball to another fielder if he feels he will touch the rope but both the fielder and the ball going completely over the line and it not being a six just doesn't seem right

cant see hales playing , he was never going to be a clear selection and his performances in this ODI series must have ended any hopes he did have

its a real problem , lyth obviously struggled but there is no obvious replacement for him , and if we take the chance with moeen in the UAE because of the more sedate pitches do we then have to keep him there for SA too

one game to go in the home international summer, been a pretty weird summer of cricket

after a pretty high quality, exciting series against NZ, especially the ODIs, we had a fairly disappointing test series against Australia with poor quality cricket and 5 very one sided games and now an ODI series that feels a bit tired especially with all the missing aussies

would probably have preferred the NZ part of the summer to be a bit longer, maybe one more test at least, and do away with some of these ODIs

don't know if this should be in its own thread , AC usually does those retrospective style threads better than I can

Why not have Tests (2/3) - Tri Series ODIs - Tests (5/4)

doesnt the sky contract demand at least 7 tests and 10 ODIs in a summer

i always thought that was why the series were 2&5 or 3&4
