Watching the Norwich v Bournemouth game. Bouremouth are much the better team in terms of on the ball quality, its very apparent, but they simply cant plough forward like they do. Every time Norwich get the ball they attack quickly and its 3 on 3 at the back, all day, every time they break.

Very naive from Howe. If they play like this every week they are going back to the Championship. They have a few really good players, clear quality there, but the tactics are rubbish.

How Simon Francis is still on the field is also a mystery. I have counted 3 possible yellow cards since his first booking.

Give the defence a break and put on a DM to shield them. Wes Hoolahan and Jarvis are ripping them apart

You're getting a bit uptight about a team you don't support.

Perhaps you are trying to get a rise from me. Sorry, my expectations aren't high so even though this looks like being a poor defeat against a possible relegation rival, for some reason it doesn't bother me the way it would last season.

Not my intention at all, but I see the point, maybe I shouldnt care about how Bournemouth play. As I acknowledged though, Bournemouth technically looks a much better team than Norwich, they just committed suicide in this game. You can see both why they might go down, and why they can stay up, all in 45 minutes of football. I would love to see them stay up, gives faith to all the football league that with some ambition, good signings and decent management you can do it..... a lot of respect, and maybe a lot of jealousy that they made it to the Prem.

Maybe its good to get beat like that today early in the season. There isnt much they need to do against teams like that, just need to show patience and faith in their ability to score the goal eventually, and not pile forward.

It's interesting you should say about better to get your bad losses out the way at the beginning of the season, probably better to have your good runs in the middle/end of the season. Trouble is our fixtures up front are more straightforward, which in some strange way could be putting pressure on the team to get early points. The run in is where we have alot of tough fixtures.

I think you're right Howe isn't getting his team selection and tactics quite right, and it might be surprising to hear, but I feel he can sometimes be quite conservative in his approach and isn't happy to put new signings straight in, and he would rather go with the old favourites and who he thinks will do the job on the day.

Doesn't help that we've lost 3 left sided players in the Leicester game and two of our most expensive signings for the season. O'Kane is too lightweight for the premier league and I understand today was responsible for giving the ball away twice for goals.

Hey if we do go down, your guys will probably replace us with the way things are going, keep the south coast representation going!

Dont know a great deal about your team, but it did show you had a weakness on the left side. Tommy Elphick was appalling exposed at left full back today, but then again, Richie never got back to help him out, and marking one on one with space to run at any full back, Redmond and Jarvis with their pace are going to make much better players struggle.

Both Neil and Howe have strong philosophies on the way they want to play, but Howe today needed to be more flexible, and yes the way they played after the first goal they must, and no doubt will, learn from. If you say he is conservative, then I think its conservative on changing the aggressive style. Had they stuck to their guns and knocked the ball about, a few times O Kane and Surman got ball through to the box, and just needed a bit more luck or a bit more quality.

I think they have a great chance to stay up though. In fact, I think you seen today two of the best teams to come up together in a long time, both I think will avoid the drop.

I really like Neil. Apart from the falling apart away to Southampton, which I did watch also when down ten, I have seen them play under him a few times now and he has a clear idea of how he sets up his team, and every man works for that team hard. If they go down, its because Cameron Jerome is an utter donkey

Even that Elphick is a CB though, that's probably not surprising. Bmouth have been very unlucky to lose both their LBs to injury (a season long injury in Mings' case).

The last team you want to play when you're having to try and get by with a make shift fullback, is a team with two wingers in it like Norwich had.
