I don't think I've seen a team with less fight in the first half. Made up for it with a bit more enthusiasm after half time, but we did take our foot off the gas and let them back in.

To be honest with all the teams that I saw at Dean Court last season in the Championship, Sunderland were probably worse than all of them.

Predicting a tough season for us still even after this win, if we lose Wilson to injury or to the January transfer window we are in big bother. Distin was a rock in defence on his debut, real premiership quality was there for all to see.

Blimey Man C lose at home twice in a week, more upsets today!

I saw Arsenal had 2 players sent off, but Costa stayed on.

Haven't watched MOTD much this season, but for some reason I'm giving it a go this. Watch out for the Matt Ritchie goal, a sublime volley, I was right behind the goal watching it arrow into the top corner. Quality strike.

It wasn't much different to the games last season, similar quality opposition.

I went with my dad and brother but unfortunately because of the priority points system they are operating this year I was sat behind the goal with my brother and my dad was in an obscure seat in the west stand!

Still a good afternoon, sat in the warm sunshine in Kings Park before the game and then a gentle stroll about 400 yards into the ground about 15 minutes before kickoff.

You won't see me, I'm probably too far back. I was wearing a pink t shirt mind!

Arsenal fans are right to complain. If Gabriel is sent off there is no way costa should stay on the pitch. Costa hit koscielny in the face deliberately once a yellow card for that hit the same player in the face again another yellow card then deliberately knocked the same player to the ground off the ball and that's three yellow cards. Koscielny is at fault for not rolling on the ground holding his face each time Costa hit him. Acting is the only thing these referees pay attention to.

Costa probably did enough to warrant two red cards. Its funny how referees seem to overlook pushing and shoving, slaps to the face, over aggressive pats on the back, general winding up of an opponent, but someone retaliates with a petulant kick out which wouldn't even have concerned a passing fly they can't send them off quick enough.

Koscielny did take it well. What irks me with the ref yesterday was not only that incident, but the one when Costa deliberately barged Chamberlain to the ground, when already on yellow. That was a classic case of a ref bottling it, cos he definitely saw it.
Chelsea fans did say he missed a pen on hazard, but he got that one right, imo.
