it may well work but is still a very odd move imo. You'd want to give Amla as much time as possible and he's done well opening. Is Miller going to be able to open for SA around the world?

Personally i would also like Amla to open in ODI format over Miller. Perhaps ABD is just experimenting and I doubt this is long term change. Their batting order is very strong and flexible. If they get a good start, chances are that Amla will be demoted further as FAF and ABD will bat before him.
